On October 17 and 18, 2026, Brno will once again become a meeting place for world dance sport. The Brno Open Dance Festival 2026 will bring dance couples from the Czech Republic and abroad to the MUNI Campus Ball Games Hall. The highlight of the weekend will be the WDSF World Championship Standard Junior II – the World Junior Standard Dancing Championship.
World Junior Championship in Brno
One of the main moments Brno Open 2026 the World Junior Standard Dance Championship will take place. Young dance couples will compete for the world title in five standard dances – waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slowfox, and quickstep.
The WDSF World Championship Standard Junior II competition will offer spectators the opportunity to watch the upcoming generation of world dance sport right in Brno. Athletic performance, technical precision, musicality, and elegance, which are typical of standard dances, will all come together on one dance floor.
Brno Open will offer world-class dancing across categories
The World Championship will not be the only international competition of the weekend. The Brno Open Dance Festival 2026 will also offer other competitions held under the auspices of the World DanceSport Federation – WDSF.
On Saturday, October 17, alongside the World Junior Championship, the WDSF World Open Latin for adult couples and the WDSF Open Latin in the Youth category will also take place. The competition will begin at 10:00 AM and will culminate with a gala evening starting at 7:30 PM.
Sunday, October 18 will belong primarily to standard dances. The program includes the WDSF World Open Standard for adults, as well as competitions in the Youth and junior categories for both standard and Latin American dances.
