Brno Open 2026 will bring world-class dance talent to Brno

From October 17-19, 2026, Brno will once again become the center of world dance sport. The Brno Open Dance Festival 2026 will be held at the MUNI Campus Ball Sports Hall, with the main highlight being the Junior World Championship in Standard Dances.

World Junior Championship in Brno

The most significant competition of this year's edition will be WDSF World Championship Standard Junior II. Young dancing couples from different countries around the world will compete for the title of world champions in five standard dances - waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slowfox, and quickstep.

The World Championships will offer a combination of precise technique, elegance, musicality, and emotion. For young dancers, it represents one of the peaks of their sporting careers to date, and for visitors, it's an exceptional opportunity to watch the emerging generation of world ballroom dancing right in Brno.

Dance festival for juniors and adults

Brno Open 2026 will not only be the World Championship. The festival will also include international competitions organized under the banner of World DanceSport Federation – WDSF.

On one dance floor, young dance talents will present themselves as well as experienced adult couples competing for points in the WDSF world rankings. Organizers expect hundreds of dance couples from dozens of countries and several continents.

Festive Saturday Gala

A peak atmosphere will be offered Saturday gala, which will start on October 17, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Viewers can look forward to the final rounds of the most important competitions, grand entrances of dance couples, and a program that combines top-tier sport with a social and cultural experience.

The gala evening will also include the traditional Partners Cup – a team competition of Brno's partner cities. Representatives from Brno, Vienna, Bratislava, Leipzig, Stuttgart, and Kaunas will compete on the dance floor.

Brno as the center of world dance sport

Brno Open is among the most significant dance events held in the Czech Republic. It regularly brings to Brno not only top dance couples but also international judges, coaches, sports officials, and fans of dance sport.

The festival builds on the successful 2025 edition, during which Brno hosted two WDSF World Championships and welcomed dance couples from 42 countries. Brno Open thus has a long-term role in presenting Brno as a city of sport, culture, and significant international events.

Brno Open 2026 will offer several days full of competitive performances, elegance, music, and emotions. Spectators will be able to follow the journey of dancing couples from the initial rounds to the final battles and the ceremonial awarding of winners.
